Accident

No, it wasn't a car accident.  I've been cutting alot of trees and quite a few around some houses.   I bought a new chainsaw the other day and on the very first tree I cut, the wind came up stong against me on the last moment.  I couldn't stop the tree from going down and the top branches hit directly on a house.  I had already evacuated the place so nobody was there but the roof was very damaged.  I have a couple of guys rebuilding it now.  I am trying to finish up the trees that are near the house before the new roof goes on.  The trees are gum (eucaliptys) and very tall and very heavy.  The trees yield up to 8 pieces twelve foot long each and in some cases the first branch is 75 feet from the base.

I learned that there is a large commercial avocado farm a few hours drive from here and I'm very interested to go visit it.  The owner is appearently very friendly and has heard of us and would like to work with us.  We'll see what comes of it.

I haven't mentioned 'til now, we have a new family on campus.  Doug and Tamara Schoch and their son Joshua have joined us to head up health education with the goal of starting more direct health work.  They have just arrived and will be heading to language school for six weeks starting on Sunday.
