drought

When we think of drought, we think of bare, windswept, sunbaked, hot, dry...  Actually last year our rains ended early, like March or so and this year they never really started until well into December when there was some heavy rains including flooding that left many dead and thousands homeless.  But since that, we have only had sprinkles now and then.  It actually clouds up every day and threatens rain.  Today there are heavy clouds and even lots of thunder but barely a sprinkle.  The landscape is green and all looks well - except that our springs are still drying up slowly and there is no water in the wells in the village.  This month it should be raining daily.  I think we had one rain.  Anyway, if we don't get rain soon, the season for it will be over and we'll be heading into another dry season without the benefit of spring water.  Pray for us.  Jason
